A 1929 Mido Very New Sterling Silver Pocket Watch.  Works keeps good time Modelled off the Bugatti Wheel 15 Rubis Serial no: #293943

This watch was gifted to Maximilian Arc Von Zinnenberg in 1931 after he brought a Bugatti T35B from Ettore Bugatti and Max competed in the Monaco Grand Prix in 1930 

He was very friendly with a young German actress/Driver called Friedl Haerlin who also was a World Champion Speed record holder in 1929 at Seemering Germany also in her Steyr XII. 

This watch was sold to a couple in the late 70's to help Friedl move from Peru back to her home town Bravia in Germany to retire. 

I have all the research on these 2 awesome drivers and have it on paper over 4 pages on information on these 2 people and their motor racing careers. 

This watch is part of racing history with a side of a Count a Movie Actress in the mix Great piece of kit for any one into movies or race history. A Count an Actress a watch and Motor Racing.

Is a gift to E.C for Services Rendered at The Somme 1946 from EILEEN so has heritage.

Sterling Silver Case inside has 15 Jewels Rolex on the wheel. Has service dates scratched on the back as well.

Brand new genuine leather strap.

Excellent working condition looks very nice and clean for the age.

The Somme was one of the significant battles in WW1 and the only way a woman would be involved would usually be as a nurse. And these were often gifted from soldiers or family members that they comforted during an injury. And to recieve a Rolex so much later would have been a significant gift for services. So whom ever did gift this was wealthy and of importance to the family. This may have been gifted by a soldiers wife maybe. It has a story imagine knowing that story.
